Fairytale Festival – Sept. 15-16, 2017

Something magical is coming to Centerville, Utah!  Back by popular demand, CenterPoint Legacy Theatre is pleased to announce the 5th annual Fairytale Festival to be held at the Theatre on September 15th – 16th , 2017.

Come meet your favorite fairytale characters from roughish pirates, to adventurous princesses!  Enjoy fantastic foods from around Utah including savory and sweet treats. Face Painting, Fairy House and wand making, among other fanciful fairytale crafts will be available.  Build-A-Castle, medieval carnival games, balloon animals, a bouncy castle, and much, much more will be provided to delight family members of all ages!

New This Year Are:

  • GREAT STORYTELLING TENT with royal entertainment and captivating weavers of magic.
  • PIXIE DUST CHALK ART COMPETITION with magical chalk artists
  • WIZARDRY 101 where young wizards can experiment with their wizarding skills

Popular events this year include Enchantment Hall where children can interact with favorite fairytale characters, puppet shows at the Puppet Palace, Pirate Minute- to- Win- it Games and most notably a Daddy-Daughter Ever After Ball which will be held on Friday and Saturday at 7:00 pm. We will host a Wishing Well station  where children can create “wishes” for a young friend of ours fighting Leukemia. At the RAPUNZEL hair station young and young-at-heart Rapunzels can donate their locks and/or have a princess make-over! You won’t want to miss the “Once Upon a Time Partici-play”.

Enroll your little lords and ladies for princess training in the Princess Tea Party where they will learn how to be a “real” princess, at Knights in Chivalry Training where they will be trained to be knights worthy of King Arthur’s noble court as they prepare for the “Tournament of Knights” or for the Captain Hook Scalawag School where they will be tutored in the lost art of piracy!

Admittance to the festival is FREE as are many of the activities!  Some craft booths have a fee and the fee for events such as the Princess Tea Party, Knight’s Training, Captain Hook Scalawag School and Daddy-Daughter Ball are listed below.  Registration for these events is available at http://www.centerpointtheatre.org/  OR by calling the Box Office at 801-298-1302.

Princess Tea Party

Princesses are encouraged to dress up for this pinkalicious tea party surrounded by the attention of 5 beautiful princesses who will instruct them on what makes a REAL princess. After making a princess craft and learning an enchanting dance, parents will be invited in to watch the silver tiara ceremony.

  • Cost: $18.00-Princess until September 10th. After September 10th, registration is $23.00
  • Times:
    • Friday: September 15th – 4:30-5:15       
    •  Saturday: September 16th – 10:30-11:15, 12:30-1:15, 2:30- 3:15, 4:30-5:15
  • Place: CenterPoint Royal Hall (Leishman Hall) southwest corner of the theater
  • Registration required (limited to 32 per session) Ages: 3-12


Knights in Chivalry Training

Young Knights will learn the art of chivalry, dragon hunting, javelin throwing, fencing from a skilled swordsman and other necessary skills to participate in the tournament of knights which will be the culmination of this knightly adventure.

  • Cost: $15.00- Knight until September 10th. After September 10th, registration is $18.00
  • Times:
    • Friday: September 15th – 4:30-5:15
    • Saturday: September 16th – 10:30-11:10, 12:00-12:40, 1:30-2:10
  • Place: Back Lawn of CenterPoint Theatre
  • Registration required (limited to 14 per session) Ages: 3-12


Daddy-Daughter Royal Ball

Princesses are encouraged to dress in princess attire. Daddies are encouraged to wear Sunday best or Formal attire. This once-upon-a-dream evening will begin will a royal surprise involving your favorite princesses. The magic will continue with enchanting entertainment, dancing instruction, delectable desserts, professional photos, and an exciting finale. This never to be forgotten evening for daddies and their girls will be a night of memory making that will live happily ever after.

  • Cost: $35.00- per couple (additional girl is $18) until September 10th. After September 10th, Registration is $42.00- per couple.
  • Times:
    • Friday: September 15th – 7:00-8:30 p.m.
    • Saturday: September 16th – 7:00-8:30 p.m.
  • Place: CenterPoint Royal Hall (Leishman Hall) southwest corner of the theater
  • Registration required (limited to 80 people)

Captain Hook Scalawag School

Wanna-be scalawags will be tutored by the Captain himself. They will learn the fine art of piracy right down to mastering the perfect “argh”! How to accurately follow a treasure map and sing at the top of your lungs like a pirate will set them on a journey of fantasy.

  • Cost: $15.00-Pirate until September 10th. After September 10th, registration is $18.00
  • Times:
    • Friday: September 15th – 4:45-5:15
    • Saturday: September 16th – 11:00-11:30, 2:30- 1:00, 2:15-3:45
  • Place: North courtyard of CenterPoint Theatre
  • Registration required (limited to 20 per session) Ages: 3-12


Wizardry 101

Promising Wizards will be properly sorted, robed and then find themselves in the Wizarding world of wand-making, potion-brewing and magical spells.  Chocolate frogs, butter beer and mysterious visitors will appear upon the appropriate wizardly commands.

  • Cost: $15.00- Wizard until September 10th. After September 10th, registration is $18.00
  • Times:
    • Friday: September 15th – 5:30-6:10
    • Saturday: September 16th – 10:15- 10:55, 11:45-  12:25, 1:15- 1:55
  • Place: Basement of CenterPoint Theatre- Rehearsal Hall B


Villain and Rogue Ball

Get on your early Halloween at our “be-witching” ball filled with goulish surprises, spooky treats, a little black magic and a costume contest all hosted by the divine Morticia and Gomez Addams. “Thrilling” dance instruction & “spooktacular” entertainment await you!

  • Cost: $10.00 until September 10th. After September10th, tickets are $15.00
  • Time: Saturday, September 16th – 9:00 p.m. – Midnight
  • Place: CenterPoint Haunted Hall (Leishman Hall) southwest corner of theatre.
  • Tickets required (limited to 120 participants)  Ages: 16 and up
