"You know, Daddy, it isn't the big troubles in life that require character. Anyone can rise to a crisis and tace a crushing tragedy with courage, but to meet the petty hazards of the day with a laugh-I really think that requires spirit." - Daddy Long Legs
CenterPoint has been an important part of my life for many years. I was lucky enough to meet my husband while we were both performing in The Pajama Game at the old Rodgers Memorial Theater—the precursor to CenterPoint Theatre. Since then, between the two of us and our three children, a member of the Lowell family has participated in 15 Mainstage productions and 10 Academy productions.
CenterPoint Theatre is quite literally a centerpiece of our lives.
Because we’ve been involved at the theatre for so long, it felt only natural that one of us would eventually work here as well. I just never expected it to be me! After working as an RN for 10 years, I chose to stay home while our kids were young. As they grew older, my desire to find something fulfilling outside the home began to grow too. I explored several job options, but nothing felt quite right.
Then, in a twist of fate, the paint team needed some extra help on a project—and my husband immediately put my name forward. The rest, as they say, is history.
I have no formal artistic training and have learned everything on the job from the incredible Cynthia Klumpp. Never in my wildest dreams would I have guessed I’d get to do this work. It is such a joy to be part of Team Paint. To help create and tell incredible stories is truly a blessing.
