Musical Theatre Productions

Students in grades 3–12 (grouped by age) learn acting, singing, and dancing in weekly musical theatre classes taught by experienced professionals. Each class works towards a fully-staged musical performance, as well as a musical revue at CenterPoint Theatre. Please note that some additional rehearsals outside of class time are required, and dedicated attendance is necessary. Because these classes are popular, students are placed through an audition process. In-person auditions for our 2026-2027 MTP Classes will be held May 11th-16th 2026. Video auditions are also accepted year-round to fill vacancies as they arise. Email Academy@cptutah.org with questions.

Triple Threat Training

Students can focus exclusively on stage acting through in-depth script analysis, character development, and performances; build their skills in a variety of musical theatre dance styles; or develop their confidence in singing. Each class is designed to build skills and a love of theatre, with multiple performance opportunities throughout the year and expert instruction in a supportive, engaging environment.
This acting-focused class is dedicated entirely to building strong stage acting skills for musicals, plays, and beyond. Students learn script analysis, character development, and performance techniques through monologues and scenes, gaining confidence and discovering the acting approach that works best for them. The class culminates in a fall showcase and a full play performance in the Spring.
This 6-class dance series focuses on the styles most commonly used in musical theatre, helping students become stronger, more well-rounded, and more castable performers. Classes are grouped by age and skill level, from beginner to advanced, with instruction tailored to each dancer’s ability. Students are encouraged to pair this class with Musical Theatre Productions, and final placement is confirmed during the first few weeks of class.

Technical Theatre

CenterPoint Academy prepares students to work in all facets of community and professional theatre, including behind the scenes. Our Backstage class offers hands-on experience working on real productions alongside professional technical directors, designers, and craftsmen.
Auditioned Shows

In addition to our three Musical Theatre Productions classes, CenterPoint Academy produces three extra Auditioned Shows: and one for 7th-12th grades in June, one for 9th-12th grades in September, one for 5th-8th grades in October.
These shows will be audition-based and are open to the general public, not just current Academy students. They are designed to supplement, but not replace, your weekly Musical Theatre classes. Casting decisions are at the sole discretion of each production team. We expect there to be a great turnout for these auditions, so we recommend you see these as great opportunities but not plan your year around just these shows.
$275 one-time tuition, charged only to those cast in each show following auditions.
