Jim Dotson brings more than 35 years of hands-on experience to his role as Facility Manager, combining deep technical knowledge with a genuine care for the spaces and people he serves. Throughout his career, Jim has built a reputation for optimizing facility performance, minimizing downtime, and leading teams with a steady, solutions-focused approach. His background in project management and technical troubleshooting has resulted in improved equipment reliability, increased safety compliance, and meaningful cost savings.
Before joining CenterPoint Theatre, Jim served as Maintenance Lead for Summit Global Investments and spent decades in public service with the Ogden City Fire Department and Kaysville Fire Department, including roles as Firefighter/Paramedic, Deputy Fire Marshal, and Battalion Chief. His extensive education in Fire Science and Paramedic Science further supports his commitment to safety, preparedness, and operational excellence. Jim is driven by innovation and takes pride in implementing practical strategies that keep facilities running smoothly and safely.
Outside of work, Jim enjoys spending time with his wife, Carrie, their four children/spouses, and ten grandchildren. He loves woodworking, fly fishing, backpacking, camping, 4-wheeling, and tackling yard projects. Jim says the best part of working at CenterPoint Theatre is the people, and his favorite shows so far have been Noises Off and Daddy Long Legs.
