Job Description

CenterPoint Theatre is a 501(c)(3) arts organization in Davis County with a mission to enrich the community by telling the Stories That Connect Us.

Reporting to the Executive Director and working closely with the Director of Patron Experience, the Facilities Manager is directly responsible for the maintenance, upkeep, and performance of the CenterPoint Theatre facility. This role combines facility management, hands-on maintenance, and emergency preparedness to ensure a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment.

The Facilities Manager will also participate in the planning, setup, and takedown of theatre special events, as necessary.

Finally, the Facilities Manager will also work as a member of the build crew for CenterPoint Theatre productions. While not the primary focus of the position, this hybrid role is an important contribution to the efficient build, load-in, and strike of CenterPoint sets, technical elements, and other related work in putting up CenterPoint shows.

Job Responsibilities

Facility Management & Maintenance:

  • Directly responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of the facility, ensuring all systems function efficiently.
  • Develop and implement short and long-term preventive maintenance schedules for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems.
  • Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs, including minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, patch/paint, and general upkeep.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for specialized maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure the facility remains clean, operational, and compliant with all regulations.
  • Maintain detailed facility records, including maintenance logs, safety inspections, and compliance documentation.

Safety & Emergency Preparedness:

  • Work with the Safety Manager to develop and enforce workplace safety policies, ensuring compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and other regulations.
  • Develop and keep updated the CenterPoint Theatre Emergency Procedures manual.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and risk assessments, addressing hazards proactively.
  • Train employees on safety protocols, emergency response procedures, and proper equipment usage.
  • Implement and oversee fire prevention, security, and access control measures.
  • Work with the Theatre Administrator to file incident reports. Develop corrective action plans for safety improvements relating to incident reports filed for staff, cast, crew, patrons, and other theatre visitors.

Risk Management & Compliance:

  • Identify potential facility risks and implement preventative measures to reduce liabilities.
  • Ensure all maintenance and safety procedures align with industry regulations and best practices.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, document findings, and implement corrective actions.
  • Work with local emergency responders and regulatory agencies to enhance safety protocols.

Build Crew and Special Events

  • Work on CenterPoint build team, under the direction of the Shop Foreman, including set construction, technical element installation, load-in, strike, and other necessary show-related activities.
  • Participate in planning, setup, and takedown of necessary elements for CenterPoint special events, Encore Club events, rentals, and other potential uses of the building.

Pay

Salary of $70,000 annually
