All participants must demonstrate their musical abilities during the general audition, as each cast member performs with an instrument in the production. The roles of “Girl” and “Guy” specifically require proficiency in piano and guitar, respectively. For other roles, instrument assignments may vary. For instance, while the role traditionally associated with playing the violin/fiddle is Reza, this instrument can be played by another cast member as well.
To enhance authenticity and enrich character portrayal, we will incorporate Czech (Eastern European) and Irish accents. Each actor is expected to learn or refine an accent that aligns with their character. Accent work will be a key component of rehearsals. Even if you are not yet confident in your accent skills, please still audition.

VIEW MAPTheatre is subjective. The most important part is the audition itself. However, many factors go into casting a production, such as height, weight, look, personality, acting ability, conflicts, past experience, presence, work ethic, doubles, doubles conflicts, age, etc. If we were not able to use you in a past production, please continue to audition. Our production team strives to provide a safe environment in which to promote artistic expression. Break a leg!
